This year's 20/20 film festival and Andres Roots' appearance there tomorrow has been postponed to March 25, 2021 due to the COVID pandemic. We're all very sorry, but with the current state of affairs, it seems like the responsible thing to do :( Meanwhile, you can still enjoy one of the two silent films in the programme with its blues accompaniment online:

Reviews & More in Muusika Magazine
The June issue of Muusika magazine includes Andres Roots' piece on the music he experienced in Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee last October, as well as Meelis Hainsoo's review of the "House Arrest" EP and the "Mississippi to Loch Lomond" album, of which he writes: "You hear virtuosic musicianship pickled with warm humour and the
emotional response of the audience: everything a concert needs to have."

"House Arrest" in Blues in Britain!
In the June issue of Blues in Britain, Norman Darwen writes: "The four solo instrumentals – all his own compositions – range from the gutsy, raw boogie of the opening ‘Lindberg Boogie’ to the Blind Willie Johnson-ish ‘Fretless Wonder’ via the more reflective ‘Soup City Blues’, with hints of Elmore James, and the closing ‘Black River Blues’ which reminds me a little of early R.L.Burnside. Andres is a master of this kind of music and this is a fine release. Buy
it and support one of the best instrumental blues players around."

The Bandcamp Fundraiser
To help musicians who have lost their gigs & income because of
COVID-19, Bandcamp is waiving their fees this Friday, March 20 to help put
money directly into artists’ pockets - check it out here! A case in point, I myself was set
to do 20 shows to launch the "Mississippi to Loch Lomond" album this
spring and it doesn't look like I'll get to do any. So if you haven't
heard the album yet or haven't bought it yet or just feel like
supporting 'the artist' until it all blows over, please check out https://andresroots.bandcamp.com/.
There, you can download single tracks for 1 euro, the whole 15-track
album for 8.- (with a .pdf of the liner notes included!), or even order
the actual CD for 13.- (plus VAT & shipping). PS: the digital
version of the album is *only* available here.
